With Guidance From The Pain acting as the prologue for the new record, Pain is Power could be one of the heaviest albums out of Australia this year. The album is the bands sophomore record and follows the widely successful Dragged Through the Dirt and is one of the most anticipated works of the year in hardcore.
Since their inception in 2012, Justice For The Damned have been making waves in both the Australian and International hardcore scenes, perfecting one of the most entertaining live shows in hardcore right now.
Dragged Through the Dirt was the perfect example of what a debut hardcore album should be, and made for an experience that translated from studio to stage perfectly. With the release of Guidance From The Pain, Justice For The Damned have proved that exact energy again with a more polished sound. The new single speaks from the perspective of empathy and elevation serving as a logical progression from the narrative of human struggle on the first record.
Sonically, the new single marks an improvement in mixing and tightness in sound and shows how the band are maturing musically. This could be put down to the mastery of Will Putney producing the record or the bands reignited drive to make the record.
Guitarist Nick Adams reflected on the process, “Pain Is Power marks the newest, most exciting chapter in our careers & is also our proudest musical accomplishment to date. Bringing this album to life with a team of such high calibre individuals was nothing short of an immense honour & privilege for which we are forever grateful.”
