PREMIERE: ELEMENTS // Find Themselves Fighting The ‘Glitch’
Mar 13, 2020 / WORDS The Editor / If deletion was only an option
Elements, an exciting new five-piece metalcore breakout from Melbourne, are proud to premiere their latest grindhouse-inspired video for single Glitch, exclusive to Hysteria. Watch below:
Featuring a timely refrain of “delete the virus / embrace the silence,” the heavy-hitting track will appeal to fans of mechanised ‘core such as Northlane, Architects, and Crossfaith.
The video was directed and produced by Jordan Tan of Jordan Tan Media. The track itself was recorded and mixed by Zak Knight of Earthtide Studios and mastered by Chris Themelco (Orpheus Omega) of Monolith Studios.
The sound was further developed from their first EP, Unidentified.
“Our sound from the first EP was very experimental for us, and allowed us to explore who we were as writers,” the band states. “We enjoyed making it and even now the breakdown from Lucidity still makes us pull some serious stank face when we play it. We think that it’s important for any bands (like us) that are starting out to really love what you do, and to really enjoy the music you make. You should be your biggest fan.
“Having said that, we are excited to move forward in developing our sound, and our new single Glitch has been the first step in this process. We aimed for a different style, expanding upon the predominantly deathcore sound of Unidentified, but keeping the fundamental elements of accepting who you are, fighting what you believe in, and absolutely not taking anything less.”
As for what Elements are all about, the band states “[we] have always been about not becoming a victim to what is going on around you, and taking back your power. The tracks from our first EP Unidentified are very much about this, whether it be on a personal level against someone trying to oppress or harm you, or even on a global/religious level. Our track Six Foot Hole for example, was about a bad situation that a couple of us went through a few years back and how we weren’t going to let it take over us, instead using it as fuel to push us forward.”
Glitch is available now on all streaming platforms and digital retailers.
