Dear Joey and Brooke, What a wild ride! I just wanted to write to express …
Sydney alt. Punk rockers FANGZ have been in a rich vein of form over the past few years, and they’ve delivered again on new single I Don’t Like Me.

Hitting the skate punk sensibilities of Sum 41 and NOFX with smatterings of pop punk and a short but sweet breakdown for the moshlords in the room, it’s a pleasing mix of all things short, fast and loud from the band, who’s stock has been steadily rising since the release of their debut EP But No Thanks last year (to which we awarded full marks).
“I Don’t Like Me’ is about the version of ourselves we publicly present in order to hide our true experience and what we’re really going through,” says frontman Joshua Cotreau in a statement.
“It touches on our personal issues as well as the passing of close friends that lost their own battles with depression.
“This song is for anyone that is not ok and feels isolated. Just know you are not alone and you are loved.”
Having sold out their most recent national tour earlier this year, and with an upcoming appearance at Halloween Hysteria on the books, I Don’t Like Me is sure to be a crowd-pleasing anthem from a band who have continued to put runs on the board, despite the national pandemic shitstorm.
If 2021 can’t stop FANGZ, it’s hard to imagine what could.
