To celebrate, the band has dropped an absolute firecracker of a track, fittingly titled Fired Up. It comes with trippy visuals, directed by Thomas Rawle.

It was a challenge for the trio, who went through 15 variations of the track. As Drummer Simon Ridley says “basically at some point Shane (Parsons) just turned Fired Up into a big stadium-rocking, Bruce Springsteen style anthem and I guess that’s when we knew what we were dealing with”.

Triple j premiered Fired Up overnight, sending fans excitement levels through the roof.  The track is the first new release from the band since 2019’s Positive Rising: Part 1. The album was a huge success for the trio and earned an ARIA nomination for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album, it was also named the Best Independent Punk Album at the 2019 AIR Awards.

Positive Rising: Parts 1 and 2 were designed to be treated as two halves of a whole, with the band encouraging fans to play both beginning to end. This carries through to the artworks which, when put together, depict a yin and yang.

Part 2 was recorded in Australia with producer Miro Mackie. Speaking on the title track, frontman Shane Parsons says, “Positive Rising is the closing song of the two-part album. The track comes from thoughts of an undercurrent of positivity throughout this world making its way to the surface. Starting small and developing into something that could potentially change lives for the better.”

Positive Rising: Part 2 is available for pre-order now. In the meantime, you can stream or purchase Fired Up through all standard digital outlets.
