Los Angeles punk staples The Bronx are joining the Download Festival Australia 2020 line-up in a surprise last-minute announcement.

The two festival dates will be the only Australian shows for the band.
Festival organisers have also announced winners of the triple j Unearthed competition; Melbourne metalcore band Gloom in the Corner and Newcastle punks Big Nasty have nabbed slots at the Melbourne and Sydney festivals respectively.
Formed in 2002, The Bronx have since released five studio albums. In a statement from festival organisers, The Bronx are “famous for their uncompromising, high-octane, legendary live sets. They elevate the energy everywhere they go, getting the party started with their blistering, anthemic punk rock tunes. We welcome them with wide open, fist pumping, arms!”
The Bronx have also released four studio albums under their alter ego Mariachi El Bronx, which exclusively play regional Mexican-style music.

Lacuna Coil Cancellation
The announcement comes on the heels of Italian goth metallers Lacuna Coil cancelling all upcoming overseas tours due to a Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak in their home province of Lombardy. The move was made as a preventative measure.
“We regret to inform our beloved fans of South East Asia that due to circumstances beyond our control we must cancel our upcoming shows in Dubai, Bangkok, Melbourne, Sydney, Tokyo, Osaka, Singapore and Jakarta. Our home region of Lombardia, Italy, is in the midst of a Coronavirus outbreak. While cancelling is heartbreaking for us, everyone’s health and safety must come first and this includes our fans. We’re confident this emergency will soon be contained and we can get back on the road to you. Thank you for your understanding and stay safe,” the band said in a statement on Facebook.
As of the time of writing, John’s Hopkins University Centre for Systems Science and Engineering reports Italy has 3,089 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Most cases are centred around Lacuna Coil’s home city of Milan.
