Dear Joey and Brooke, What a wild ride! I just wanted to write to express …
If you haven’t yet wrapped your ears around the heavy goodness that is Avarice, what have you been doing?!

The track is the latest from Sydney’s Bare Bones, and oh man does it pack a punch.
Making use of their time spent in lockdown, the track was written and recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s the first taste of new music from the band since the release of 2019’s Rival Minds, a record that racked up some pretty impressive numbers on Spotify and introduced them to a host of new fans.
Lyrically, the track was inspired by the shitty, and inescapable, news cycle of 2020. From COVID, to political bullshit, to police brutality it’s been a rough year, and the band found their inspiration in the constant injustices and atrocities plaguing the world around us. Clearly missing a live show, the band built Avarice with gigs in mind, pushing further into their groove and industrial metal influences than ever before.
Avarice was produced by Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, The Dead Love, Redhook) and mixed by Chris Blancato (Northlane, Arteries, Glass Ocean). Its accompanying video was filmed by Blake Curby and Ivan Souriyavong.
