WHEEL // Announce New Record & Share New Single

Progressive metal up-and-comers Wheel have shared details of their second full length album Resident Human, set to drop on 26th March, 2021 via Odyssey Music.

To celebrate the news, the band has also a new single Movement, complete with jaw dropping visuals.

“The song is directly about the rhetoric surrounding the events that followed the murder of George Floyd, not the murder itself. It’s about the lack of empathy and logic, the conflation and the false equivalence that has repeatedly been used to minimise the murder (and others like it) and any attempt at changing social policies in a way that might prevent such things happening again.” says vocalist James Lascelles. “In laymen’s terms, it’s a ‘shut the fuck up and sit down if you have nothing helpful to say’ to all people who think property has more value than human life or to those who think police reform to prevent American state funded brutality, shouldn’t happen as it won’t solve every other issue that we face in the modern world.

Instead of pushing the idea that ‘society would be better without a police force’, the band hopes the track inspires discussions about the role of police in our society and challenges of the status quo.

Wheel released their debut album, Moving Backwards, just last year.  It includes singles Where The Pieces Lie and Vultures, the latter amassing over 1,900,000 streams on Spotify alone. Prior to this, the band released two EPs The Path (2017) and The Divide (2018).
