SUNSET JUNKIES // Re-Release ‘Cosmos’ On Vinyl

Brisbane’s Sunset Junkies sure are making the most of a challenging year! After months of reflection, rejuvenation and creativity, the heavy lords have decided to give their debut LP Cosmos the love it deserves.

The record dropped back in September 2019 and was a strong introduction for the band, making waves in the progressive rock community. It was a momentous occasion for the quartet and one they wanted to pay tribute to with a vinyl reissue.

The new, special edition run will be limited to 100 units. In a statement, the band explained it would be “remastered for optimal sound quality, presenting the monumental work as it was always intended to be experienced.”

Sunset Junkies have gone through a metamorphosis of sorts over the years. From their roots in Americana, country and blues the band has moved to a more progressive soundscape, heavily inspired by the likes of Tool, Opeth and Peter Gabriel. They are now fronted by Byron Short and Ellie Jane on shared vocal duty, but there is decades of musical experience to be found within the band itself. 

Sunset Junkies will release their follow-up record, Darkness Visible, in 2021. Keep an eye on the band’s socials for more details!
