IMMURGE // Drop Debut EP ‘Deadweight’

US deathcore up-and-comers Immurge have stomped right onto the scene with their debut EP, Deadweight.

Aside from being heavy as hell sonically, the EP is darker lyrically, touching on religion, drug use and the end of the world. Deadweight is also an adrenaline level raising, high energy number—seriously, we reckon the band smashed a coupla redbulls before heading into the recording booth.

Deadweight is the culmination of several years of writing songs we just loved playing both for ourselves and with a crowd in mind,” says guitarist Kameron Hamer. “Every riff, lyric, drum fill, and production track we added to these songs was written with the intent to play these songs and have an absolute blast doing it, whether other people enjoyed the songs or not. Hopefully they do, though.”

Deadweight was produced by Brogun Allen (Nightowl Studios), who used classic and modern elements to bring the band’s nosebleed inducing tunes to life.

Immurge is Josh Meyer (vocals), Kameron Hamer (guitars), Steven Andrews (guitars) and Gabe Hodges (drums). They released their debut single, New Way, in 2019, leaving us all clamouring for more. And now, with their debut EP, they’ve delivered a merciless onslaught of sound. We’ll be keeping our eyes on their socials for whatever they do next!

Deadweight is available to stream now.
