The Gold Coast based band, who last took the stage in 2015, have announced a one-off reunion show at The Triffid in Brisbane on January 14.
If that somehow doesn’t excite you enough, the news of it featuring their original lineup is sure to! With frontman Lucas Stone, guitarist and vocalist Dario Lagana, guitarist Scott Ireland, bassist Ryan Swierczewski and drummer Mat Wilton on board, the band will perform their debut album, Vol 1 … Keelhaul in full.
“We’re not sure what this world’s weird little future holds,” says the band. “2022 and beyond? Who knows what ALL of us are in for? We do know this: Helm was pissed off from the start. We had a lot to say within our delivery – lyrically & sonically – about the darkness of the state of humanity and the direction in which we choose to travel as a species, continually, as a collective. We said it all across three albums and thought we’d closed the book forever in our last instalment, Vol 3…Panthalassa. Apparently not, haha. So, let’s kick things off with a nice little resurrection of Keelhaul this coming January – for our local family. Feel things out a bit. Reconnect.”
Brisbane’s Smoking Martha will also feature on the show. They recently shared their second LP, Universe.
Tickets will be available this Friday through Oztix.
