Me and You features the two vocalists performing over a sample of Howie Day’s classic ballad Collide. It features heartfelt lyrics speaking to their friendship, augmented by a smooth processed vocal that lends to the sonic palette of the music. The song acts as a way to let the audience into their lasting and special bond.

This song is veiled in grief, due to the tragic passing of Lil Peep in 2017 due to a drug overdose. Lil Peep was an alternative rapper who got his start on Soundcloud in 2014. He found success in his mixtape series which included Lil Peep; Part One (2015), Live Forever (2015), Crybaby (2016) and Hellboy (2016). With the release of Come Over When You’re Sober, Pt. 1 (2017) he transitioned into a pop-punk style.

Cold Hart is a songwriter, rapper, producer, and a co-founder of the emo rap collective GothBoiClique. GBC includes rappers such as Wicca Phase Springs Eternal, Lil Peep (RIP), Horse Head, Døves, JPDreamthug, Lil Tracy, Mackned, YAWNS, and fish narc).

Cold Hart has released a number of singles and vocal mixtapes such as 2016’s OC Season 1 & 2, 2017’s Downer, and released his full-length debut studio album Good Morning Cruel World in 2019.

Cold Hart announced his signing with Epitaph Records, a label which shares GBC’s DIY ethos and punk edge earlier this year.
