Featuring UK Youtuber/influencer Daz Black, the seven-minute clip is a dark take on the cathartic merits of a little mosh-pitting.
Prior to this, I Prevail dropped visuals for Breaking Down, Bow Down, Paranoid and Hurricane. All five tracks feature on their latest album, Trauma, which hit #6 on the ARIA charts on its week of release.
Since their arrival in 2014, I Prevail have racked up close to half-a-billion streams and 115 million YouTube views, sold over 500,000 albums worldwide, snagged three #1 singles on SiriusXM Octane and played more than 500 shows. They also hit gold status in the U.S with their rendition of Taylor Swift’s Blank Space. They were last in Australia in March, when they played Download Festival.
Trauma was produced by Tyler Smyth. It was heavily inspired by the band’s earlier rise to fame and frontman Brian Burkheiser’s vocal complications and struggles with depression. In an interview with Hysteria earlier this year Burkheiser said, “I was in a really dark spot after I came off with that vocal injury. For a long time I was like, ‘Can I still be in this band?’. The one thing we sat down and told ourselves was if we’re gonna go back in the studio and start writing, all these songs needed to be from the most genuine place. “I get chills talking about it sometimes because it feels kinda surreal that all the things we wanted to talk about, we fit them into these 13 tracks. Trauma is truly the record I feel we always wanted to write.”
Trauma is out now through Caroline Australia and Fearless Records. It is also available for both purchase and streaming.
