And it’s not just because she’s the daughter of Peter Koppes of The Church. Snow has also played in a number of bands, sharing the stage with the likes of WAAX, King Parrot and more.

Now, she’s here to take the world by storm on her own terms, sharing her debut single, LA. It’s a fiery number that oozes pure rock and roll badassery, and we wanted to know all about it. Before its official release, we got Snow on the line for a chat.

Hysteria: Hi Snow! We hear you have quite the musical background. Let’s get you introduced and find out what got you into this world.

Snow: I was born into a creative and musical family, so there were always instruments around me. My father, Peter Koppes, encouraged me to learn how to play bass and then guitar, and he helped me build my first demo studio too.

Congratulations on the debut single, LA! We hear it was inspired by the idea of meeting someone and falling in love from across the world. Where’d that come from?

Thanks, it’s an exciting time for me since it’s my first solo release! LA was inspired by a romance from across the world. He left quite an impression on me, and that song was actually only meant to be written for him. But as people heard it, I realised that the song had taken on a life of its own.

How’d the track come together recording-wise?

When I first walked into the recording studio with Dave Atkins, I had many songs to share with him. LA was the stand out track, and we managed to record and mix the song in only a few hours. Dave and I worked very intuitively in the studio. His talent as a producer and engineer shines through on the recording. He managed to capture the music in its truest form, which is very rare for a producer.

Can you share any details of your upcoming EP?

I can share that the next single will be controversial, and I will be showing a different side of my creativity. The rest of the EP, well you’ll just have to wait to find out!

You’ve toured with some huge names. Give us some standout gig moments.

What happens on tour, stays on tour. I’ve had some crazy moments. Being kicked out of our accommodation for doing a nudie run and a trailer tipping over with all the gear in it, and that was only the first night of the tour, so you can only imagine what happened next.

Build your dream tour. Who are you sharing the stage with?

The Rolling Stones and I’d be supporting them with Joan Jett.

What’s next?

My solo EP will be ready for release in 2022, and I have been rehearsing with my band so we can start doing live shows once everything opens up. Also, stay tuned for my second single Snitch, it’s a banger!

FOR FANS OF: Joan Jett, Alanis Morissette, Garbage
