The track features on their recently released double A-Side, along with a kickass cover of Rage Against the Machine’s Killing in the Name.

Notably having each member under the age of 17,  The Kids have made it their mission to reinvent punk rock for a new generation. Aside from filling their tracks with teen angst, the band has also drawn inspiration from the punk and grunge greats of the past, with their sound channelling anything from Nirvana, Dead Kennedys and Bad Brains, to Generation X, Black Flag and The Sex Pistols.

The Kids are led by prodigy drummer Jagger Alexander-Erber who also plays in a number of other bands, including Moon. Since forming, the Sydneysiders have torn it up across the globe, supporting both national and international acts including Skidrow, LA Guns, Living Colour, Rose Tattoo and Guns N’ Roses’ keyboardist Dizzy Reed.

I Thought My Family Was Rich has been self-described by the band as their little masterpiece about being broke. It follows the release of 2018 singles, School and I Just Wanna Be Happy. It is available through Riot Records, which is a part of the Golden Robot Global Entertainment Group.

The band followed the release of the single with a headlining tour, kicking it off in Sydney last month.  The tour will continue through October and you can catch all the details below. You can also stream or purchase I Thought My Family Was Rich here.
