The latest single that’s been unleashed is from the new and improved Elision. Elision decided to scrap it and start fresh, charting a new course with new music mid lockdown.

“We wrote The Spirit with clear intent. It was to be the most direct and unreserved track we could possibly create—both musically and thematically. The song demands the listener ‘come and see’, and ask themselves if we as people will ever learn the consequences of our actions”, says lyricst and guitarist Oliver Clark.

The Spirit is hauntingly heavy. It’s a track that fuses Elision’s artistic growth, with satisfying layering of elements, while also packing a punch. It’s a mosh pitter’s paradise.

Enlisting the additional vocals of Buster Odeholm of Humanity’s Last Breath, Elision’s newest single takes no survivors. Metal friends, family and fans you now have something to sink your teeth into, and you can thank Elision for that.

The Spirit is hauntingly heavy. It’s a track that fuses Elision’s artistic growth, with satisfying layering of elements, while also packing a punch. It’s a mosh pitter’s paradise.

This track comes out swinging, it’s loud and full of electric guitars running throughout the song, vocally you can expect screams but also whispers, creating a dynamic and elaborate experience for the listener. The Spirit has that storytelling aesthetic that entices the listeners to absorb the highs, the lows, and most importantly the breakdowns.

Since debuting in 2018 with their EP The Conscious Collider, Elision are back after spending some time in lockdown perfecting their art including beefing up drummer Kofi Bad’s producing skills, and the visual director skills from the band’s Oliver Clark to bring together their meticulous DIY release.

With ‘destructively heavy new music ready to be unleashed’, The Spirit is only just the beginning for the Sydney-based quartet’s reign of bleghs, screams and headbangs. The latest single will be officially released this Friday 9th April, just five days before the band hits the road to play a series of sold out shows with metalcore besties Thornhill and Bloom.
