Catnip Kaiser caught our attention earlier this year when they shared Pull Me Down, which we called “a high energy number that’ll send you right back to the early 2000s.”

Now, frontman Jack G. McDonald has stepped out on his own, bringing the infectious and fun pop-punk melodies to his debut single, Embrace Me.

It’s an earworm that’ll stick to you like gum to your shoe, and it was written during the COVID era. Unsurprisingly, it was inspired by the pandemic’s impact on our mental and social well being – something that almost everyone will be able to relate to. “Embrace Me is a pop-punk anthem which focuses on the mental thoughts of the current generation and also how the COVID-19 Pandemic has affected our way of life,” says McDonald.

Embrace Me was produced by Buttsy Clark and written by Jayden Lehmann and McDonald himself. It will feature on his debut album, an experimental offering that’ll nod to the blues, hard rock, glam metal, country and punk worlds.  We reckon that if the album’s as good as this single, McDonald will be on to a real winner, so keep your eyes peeled for more details.

Embrace Me is available to stream now.
