Accompanying the song is another one of Dance Gavin Dance’s signature quirky music videos, this time following the band on a wholesome journey on a ‘Swan Air’ aeroplane.
Afterburner is the band’s impressive ninth full-length studio album and features production from Kris Crummett (Issues, Sleeping With Sirens, Mayday Parade) and Drew Fulk a.k.a WZRDBLD (Lil Wayne, Motionless In White, Bad Wolves).
Set to be released on Friday 24th April, Afterburner will showcase the aggressive and melodic, yet funky sound that Dance Gavin Dance has come to perfect over the years. This album is following up massive success the band has had in the past, with 2018’s Artificial Selection reaching number 13 on the Billboard 200 Chart and their fanbase’s loyalty to their older albums Acceptance Speech (2013), Instant Gratification (2015) and Mothership (2016).
On Saturday, April 25th Dance Gavin Dance are booked in to play Swanfest, the band’s own one-day festival in their hometown Sacremento. The festival also features supports with the likes of Animals As Leaders, Knocked Loose, Movements and more. With the current state of the health crisis surrounding COVID-19, Dance Gavin Dance were another group of the many musicians stung by the global lockdown, and unfortunately had to postpone their highly anticipated Spring Tour. The band are yet to make a statement regarding the fate of Swanfest.
Afterburner will be released on Friday, 24th April via Rise Records and BMG Australia.
