MORE: VOID OF VISION: Something Old, Something New // CHASE ATLANTIC: Pensive Is As Pensive Does: “The Harder Life Is, The Better I Think Our Music Will Become.” REVIEWS: REDHOOK: Bad Decisions // DROPKICK MURPHYS: Turn Up That Dial // ROYAL BLOOD: Typhoons // GOJIRA: Fortitude
With big riffs and even bigger melodies, the track was seemingly built with a live setting in mind. It was written by Zak Knight, May Purcell, Chris Heyward, Tim Greenwood & Graham King, produced, engineered and mixed by both Chris Themelco and Zak Knight at Earthtide studios and mastered by Thomas Plec.
“As a band, we’ve felt the imbalances of the world over the years – inequality in human rights that continues despite the progression of society. Now, more than ever, the world craves equality and equal rights for all. Equilibrium was made to help spread that message and show that people deserve to be respected & feel that they belong.” says the band.
The quartet has also shared its official music video, shot and edited by Dave Hunter at The Band Factory Media.
Colour & Shade rose out of the ashes of multiple Australian bands, hoping to spin the Oz alt-rock scene on its head. They released their debut self-titled record back in 2019, which featured singles like Composure, The Path and Blinded. They recently shared a reimagined take of 5 Seconds of Summer’s Youngblood. It has racked up over 700,00+ hits on Spotify.
Colour & Shade plan to drop their next EP, Hostile Grounds, later in the year. They are promising it will feature a whole lot of surprise sounds, so stay tuned!
Equilibrium is available to stream now.
