Having previously toured the world, released four full-length albums and played major music festivals as the frontman of The Bennies, Anty has used 2020 to create and deliver his solo project ANTY! and first album Rudeboy which is set to be released in ten days time on Friday 11th December.

Blackened hysteria

“Anty is almost paradoxically at his best, providing a message of hope as he performs the track, gearing fans up for one of the most concentrated releases of his entire career”, as Rolling Stone Australia describes Anty and the new single.

One Step Beyond (Two Back) is light, funky, jazzy and rhythmic. Compared to the previously released single Officer, the latest from ANTY! is louder and more in your face, there’s a lot of different components happening in this track.

The debut album Rudeboy draws inspiration from “innovative reggae sounds of Jamacian producer Mikey Dread to the stream of consciousness poetry of The Streets [music project by] Mike Skinner.” The album is suggested by ANTY! as being versatile enough to be played anywhere from dive bars to dance clubs.

The album has a carefree spirit with positive lyrics, and as Anty describes as “No regrets and living in the moment.” In the song Officer, Anty sings ‘Rules are rules/they are meant to be broken’.

Rudeboy is full of sixteen reggae, hip hop and mixed genre tracks. The album will be available on Friday 11th December 2020 on Melbourne label Disdain records.
