Just months after the release of Like Love, The Amity Affliction has shared another surprise track!

This time it’s Give Up The Ghost—an emotional, heavy number that the band did not initially plan to record.
“It turns out everything is faster, and yet we have the same level of attention to detail we’ve always had on our records,” says singer Joel Birch. “The lyrics were already written, and Ahren had a chorus melody on another demo that worked for this song, so it all came together quickly, which was cool. Banging out a song on a whim in a day isn’t something we’ve done before, so it felt pretty good.”
Since coming together in 2008, TAA have rightfully become one of the biggest names in Australian metal. They’ve served up three ARIA gold-certified albums, Youngbloods (2010), Chasing Ghosts (2012), and This Could Be Heartbreak (2016). Their 2014 effort, Let the Ocean Take Me, also achieved platinum certification in Australia, and their 2018 record Misery saw the band nab their fourth consecutive #1 ARIA chart debut.
Like Love and Give Up The Ghost are both available to stream now. Amity will also feature at UNIFY gathering in January.
