Violet and A Lunar Rose will see release this Friday, 28th of February through Believe Digital/Independent. This album is their fourth, following up Once We Were Lions (2011), First Light To My Deathbed (2013) and Let Me Leave (2017).

Violet is an example of some of the “straight up, belt-fed ‘core for stompin’ paired with gently sung interludes from [vocalist Shontay] Snow” that A Lunar Rose holds among its many textures and nuances; we gave the record a resounding 9/10 in our recent review.

In our interview, vocalist Bryant Best told us “from the last record we had quite a few guys drop out, had a few things happening. So ended up recruiting a few guys. I think that at that time we were happy to reinvent the sound. It feels like everything Saviour should be and is. This was the record we’ve been trying to write for a while. It’s heavy on the heavy and heavy on the feels. I’m pretty proud of what we’ve done.”

In a statement, Best says “listening back to the record, it’s still kind of hard to listen to without feeling a bit torn by the end. It’s an emotional journey where the dark out shadows the light. This album might just be the heaviest Saviour album to date. If it’s not the heaviest, it’s certainly the most aggressive. A Lunar Rose holds real meaning to all of us and it’s one that we are going to be proud of no matter what happens moving forward.”

This is the first major release by the current line-up: Bryant Best (vocals), Shontay Snow (keyboard/vocals), Daniel Rees (guitar), Michael Matta (drums) and Chris Pearce (bass).
