“… In the period of time that I wrote this, I felt who I considered to be my friends had little interest in me or my well-being. When I finished tracking this song and heard it all back it actually felt really good …” shares Carrington frontman Emmett Carrol. The fury-fuelled single touches base on negative energy created by friends, and paints the setting for the upcoming EP.

Carrington’s first studio EP Alter Ego showcases new wave pop-punk to perfection, throwing in some hardcore influence too. Carroll says “… we wanted [‘Alter-Ego‘] to be Forrest Gump’s box of chocolates”. The band is filled with creatives, as drummer Jordan King produced, directed and edited the film clip. The video encapsulates true pop-punk conventions, picturing the band playing in an empty living room.

Since forming in 2015, the band has continued to grow their network and have played with national genre icons Bukowski and Vacant Home. They’ve even shared a stage with beloved international crew Real Friends, and rock heavyweights, Trapt.

A line-up change for Carrington in 2018 revealed fresh motivation and a new sound direction, which is strongly reflected in the upcoming EP. Previous iconic radio play involves triple j’s Short. Fast. Loud and Unearthed Airplay. The band is hugely driven, and is set to take off after their first EP release this May.
