David Ellefson, thrash icon and bassist of the metal mammoths Megadeth is returning to Australian shores this May with his solo band and he’s bringing along some old friends.

The Grammy Award winner will play a 5-date string of shows across the country this May with support from fellow Peace Sells … era Megadeth member and legendary guitarist Chris Poland. The tour stamps a once in a lifetime event for Australian Thrash Metal fans and will be a special treat for Megadeth fans alike.
This tour sees the pair set off in support of Ellefson’s solo album Sleeping Giants, which includes contributions from members of Run-DMC, Anthrax and Guns N’ Roses and demonstrates Ellefson’s command over the genre.
This will be the first time the icons have toured together in 37 years however, Ellefson and Poland are no strangers to sharing the stage. The duo on Megadeth’s debut, 1985’s Killing Is My Business … And Business Is Good in addition to Thrash classic Peace Sells But Who’s Buying.
Ellefson reminisces on their shared careers, “It was great to reconnect with Chris, musically and personally, who is still, and always has been, one of the most innovative players in metal,” he said. “Playing with him live again was amazing, and the fans really loved it. We’re so excited to be able to do it again, and bring it to Australia!”
