BNE indie-rock sweethearts and Halloween Hysteria line-up favourites Hey Baby have released their summery new tune Unconventional, just in time for shorts n’ skirts weather. Listen below.

Unconventional follows up their singles 1800-WEED and KIDS, the track is the purest expression of Hey Baby’s sound and attitude.

“A track about love, in it’s purest, most irregular form, is one for the ages. Sweet surf rock guitar riffs, upbeat drums and fuzzed out lyrics make up the summer tune. Unconventional is fast, its
jittery and it’s one to dance around carelessly,” according to a statement.

The band will hit up Fortitude Valley’s venue Tomcat on the 12th of October for their single launch, co-headlining with Sophisticated Dingo for their EP launch. They’ll have support from Guava Lava and Video Avenue.

As for the band proper, Hey Baby started in a small bedroom somewhere in the the Blue Mountains about eight years ago. Kacper Majchrowski (vox & rhythm guitar) met Jaeger
Brodie (drums) moving to Brisbane from Sydney in 2017. They recruited Sam Wilson (lead guitar) and Daniel Chlonta (bass), and have garnered acclaim from your humble fabulists, triple j, Happy Mag, and others.
