Sydney-based rockers Endless Heights are celebrating their debut album’s first anniversary with new EP The Paralyse Sessions, featuring re-recorded, mellowed out versions of some of their favourite tracks from Vicious Pleasure.

The band have described the release as a thank you to their “family of listeners” for the past year that they’ve had, and as a “fun experiment” for the group before they knuckle down and start some serious writing for their new music.
The Paralyse Sessions features 8 haunting, beautiful and mellow renditions of songs from Vicious Pleasure including You Coward, Heart of Your Life and Pray I Fade.
The EP begins with Paralyse before transitioning into a stripped-down version of Come a Little Closer, providing a softer backing to that of the original and offering a new twist on an already beautiful tune.
Pray I Fade is a stand-out of the EP, swapping out the heavy guitar for a gentle piano backing to set up a vulnerable, emotional performance and a stunning track.
The EP finishes with a refreshing and experimental remix of Paralyse, juxtaposing the ethereal, organic vocals with electronic instrumental backing to create a fresh new sound.
Fans will surely appreciate the short and sweet EP and the alternate versions of some of the band’s most loved tunes. You may find yourself wishing there was more to enjoy, but it seems the band found the sweet spot of EP length, choosing just the right songs to re-record and recording them in such a beautiful new way.
The Sydneysiders are currently enjoying a quick break from touring, having just completed their tour of the country with Hands Like Houses and Ocean Grove. They’ll join The Story So Far and Basement on their string of Aussie shows in April before heading to Europe.
