The Savannah, GA boys (and girl) have given us a taste of their new material; first single off the new album, Borderlines.

The six-minute track is wall-to-wall Baroness; a bluegrass flavour, punishing riffs, and otherworldly vocals from main-man John Dyer Baizley. Their accompanying video also feeds into its dark and twisted nature.  The song had its live debut in Houston where the band kicked off their U.S. tour last Friday.

Being four years since their previous release Purple, the band will be collaborating again with New York-based producer David Fridmann. This album also marks guitarist Gina Gleason’s first album with the band, since their previous guitarist Peter Adams had left prior in 2017.

The band has also gone for a new approach to creating this album. The 17-track LP has seen a change in recording style as the band has opted for a more improvised and loose approach.

Lead vocalist and guitarist Baizley offered that the album is their “…best, most adventurous album to date.” Also assuring the fans that Baroness are “…thrilled to be back on tour and playing these psychotic songs. Expect some surprises.”

On the topic of their new approach and sound, Gleason says that there were no “…preconceived boundaries…” whilst working on the album and that it was “…Liberating and intimidating.” These notes should give the fans hope that this will be a new experience and they should definitely be excited about the release.
