Dear Joey and Brooke, What a wild ride! I just wanted to write to express …
They’ve been in Melbourne for years now, so sorry, New Zealand, we’ll officially be claiming Bakers Eddy as our national heroes.

And with a debut LP this good, you can’t really blame us for wanting to do so. Love Boredom Bicycles has summed up everything we love about the indie/punk rockers while also teasing at their incredibly exciting future.

Genuine lyrics touching on the human experience add meat to the bones of the record. And they also show just how much growth has gone on in the Bakers Eddy camp over the years. That said, there’s a sense of humour underpinning all the tracks, and it keeps things youthful and lighthearted. Love Boredom Bicycles doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s feel-good and has summer soundtrack written all over it.
All in all, Bakers Eddy has shone, taking a massive step into their own sound with the bright and bubbly Love Boredom Bicycles.
There is no doubt the four-piece were smiling ear to ear through the whole recording process. While we’ve called out Concertina, Hi-Vis Baby and the surprisingly dark Drinking Mood as our standout tracks, the record is captivating in its entirety, bottling good vibes and big hooks. Outside of these tunes, we’ve also got to shout out our other favourites, No No No (with its pub ready singalongs) and My Baby’s Like Cigarettes. At this point though, we reckon the boys could put out three minutes of dead silence and we’d still give them props. All in all, Bakers Eddy has shone, taking a massive step into their own sound with the bright and bubbly Love Boredom Bicycles.
STANDOUT TRACKS: Concertina, Hi-Vis Baby, Drinking Mood
