WITHIN TEMPTATION // Releases Music Video For ‘The Reckoning’ Feat. Jacoby Shaddix

Dutch symphonic rockers Within Temptation have released their new single The Reckoning featuring Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix.

This track is coming off their new album titled Resist which is the anthem for Within Temptation‘s departure from their past and brings a revolutionary take on metal while taking inspirations from new-day modern music and giving it a rebellious edge. Expect to see a lot of heavy hooks and grand melodies come your way throughout this boundary pushing record.

With four years since the release of their last album Hydra and the Roller-coaster that followed, lead singer Sharon Den Adel spoke earlier this year saying “Resist is a true milestone for us. If it wasn’t for Resist, Within Temptation wouldn’t be here anymore” Their goal throughout this album was to go heavier, dirtier and give a more futuristic spin on the metal word and how it is today.

Sharon then follows on to say “Sometimes it feels that today’s pop music lacks a rebellious edge. Our main goal was to collect pieces from sounds we did like then roughen the whole thing up as much as we could, allowing us to shape a new musical world that is heavier, dirtier and more futuristic than we’ve ever created before. Resist is our new take on metal; our way of giving a fresh lease of life to the rebellious edge of modern music.”

With the perfect mix of both Sharon Den Adel’s and Jacoby Shaddix vocals (both clean and unclean) throughout The Reckoning, this first single has set the bar high for the rest of the album both instrumentally and lyrically.

Resist is set for release on 14 December through Vertigo/Caroline Australia.
