Their latest effort Boadgee Ghost (pronounced Boh-AD-jee) is another homage to murder balladry and Delta blues—this time about a real story about spirits and the great beyond (names changed to protect the innocent, of course.)

Boadgee Ghost is a surefire rocker that’ll feel right at home in a cramped dive at midnight.

A lone kick drum pounds as singer Hoss lays on his tar-stained vocals, a crunch of guitar joining him as he describes the scene: “I went down to where I felt most free / to where the Boadgee River met up with the creek”. Red and the band launch into a high as they meet the Boadgee Ghost, kicking the heaviness up a notch and veering into well trod biker metal territory.

Hoss howling at the “Boadgee Ghost” almost feels like he’s possessed, lost to the living and joining realms unknown. It’s made even more apparent as the lead guitar joins him in the dervish and takes the reins all the way down the rabbit hole. Boadgee Ghost is a surefire rocker that’ll feel right at home in a cramped dive at midnight. Long live the Boadgee Ghost.
