In this first announcement of bands, Progfest 2019 has tipped Indian modern prog hybrids Skyharbor to make their first Australian sojourn next January around the Australia Day holiday.
The Ocean are a collective of prog-oriented, natural historians/musicians from Berlin, Germany, and will be in Australia promoting their 8th album, Phanerozoic I: Palaezoic, out 2 November.

Hailing from the UK are djent-groove metal pioneers and rabble rousers Monuments, set to release their latest album Phronesis on the 5 October.

Progfest began in 2008 as a small gathering of odd-time signature aficionados and nutcrunch enthusiasts. Since, it’s widened its appeal to all non-Euclidian corners of the progressive world; art-rock, post-rock, psychedelic, and technical metal of all styles.
International and ARIA charting acts such as Ne Obliviscaris, Caligula’s Horse, sleepmakeswaves and Twelve Foot Ninja have graced Progfest stages. Originally a Melbourne-only affair, it now travels along the east coast of Australia.
Tickets for Progfest go on sale Thursday 27 September at 10am AEST, with a special pre-sale happening between 10am and 6pm on Wednesday, 26 September. For all ticketing info, visit organisers Wild Thing Presents.
