PREMIERE: WOLF & CHAIN // An Honest Mistake

Adelaide’s theatrical alt-rock emo outfit Wolf & Chain are back, this time dropping details of their debut EP alongside first single and title track An Honest Mistake.

The single is an explosive horror story with sonic nostalgia paying homage to original emo sounds made famous by bands like My Chemical Romance and The Used, but it’s only a taste of what’s to come in the EP.

An Honest Mistake plays on theatrics with insane cackling, slamming verses and crushing drums, all while telling a dark narrative throughout the EP. The overarching theme of the record is a story that revolves around the preacher who becomes obsessed and possessed with the idea of molding the world to his vision by any means.

Vocalist Jack Cumes says, “An Honest Mistake captures the emotions behind the preachers dark and consuming obsession, and willingness to do anything for the object of that obsession.”

“In truth, the motivation behind this willingness is self-serving and leads down a dark path to feelings of bitterness and resentment, and a desire for revenge.”

An Honest Mistake is a follow-up from the exceptionally well-received debut single Repent, which gained praise from media outlets around the country and showcased the band’s urge to bring back what defines the emo-rock genre in 2020.

Wof & Chain’s debut 5-track EP will be dropping on June 5^th, and in the meantime, title track An Honest Mistake is available now.
