Ahead of its official release tomorrow, the Byron Bay natives have shared Under the Weather, a tune that exudes good vibes.

Produced by scene favourite Brock Weston (BUGS), the track blends indie, punk and garage surf-rock, creating an effortlessly chill and infectious soundscape.

The band have also shared the track’s official music video, filmed and edited by Curtis Cloake. Maintaining the band’s high-spirited energy, it follows the protagonist through a series of misfortunes (including some roller skate rink related trauma) before delivering a feel-good, happy ending.

Vocalist Finn Mcildowie discussed the track further in a statement: “We’ve all found ourselves in dark places. Whether it’s a momentary bad headspace or it feels more like an endurance race with no finish line. This song came to life while I was stuck in a quarantine hotel in Hamilton, New Zealand, which undoubtedly influenced its raw emotions. However, the message is pretty clear—Be there for your mates, let them know they’re not alone. Lean on each other through the shit times and come out better on the other side.” 

To celebrate the release of Under the Weather, Off Judy will perform at the Byron Music Fest Launch Party on June 16th. They’ll also be giving fans in New Zealand a chance to catch them live, with a host of shows in Wellington, Gisborne, The Mount, and Auckland slated for October.

Off Judy are Finn Mcildowie, drummer Axl Delandro and bassist Thomas Cameron-Duncan. Since joining forces, the band have released a stack of singles (most recently, My Mind in 2022) and supported the likes of Daily J, SKEGSS and Pandemic.

Under the Weather will be available to stream on Friday, June 9th.
