Are Poor Little Things 2021’s answer to The Donnas? Their latest record, Deal Breaker, says yes.

But the LP shows a lot more than love for the iconic US band. Poor Little Things, who now reside in Switzerland, has also kept the spirit of their homeland, Australia, alive in their sound, paying tribute to its pub-rock scene.

And if that wasn’t enough, the duo has also mixed in 80s elements with a bit of classic, punk and garage rock. It’s not just one hell of a mixed bag, but one hell of a good time. This sound works incredibly well for Dave Talon (guitars) and Tina Jackson (vocals), who are clearly passionate about what they do. In particular, Jackson’s vocals add that extra bit of badassery to an already monumental soundscape and are comparable to the likes of Pat Benetar, Joan Jett and Chrissy Amphlett.

… ultimately Deal Breaker is a party captured in 10 rapid-fire tunes. Grab a beer, some mates and dive into it!

Deal Breaker is a little messy and a little rough around the edges, but it has a whole lot of heart. And while it features both sonically highspeed moments and some more pared-back sections, its anthemic, feel-good nature is consistent all the way through. In terms of standout tracks, we couldn’t go past Fire It Up, The Cutest In The Band and The Lucky Falling, but ultimately Deal Breaker is a party captured in 10 rapid-fire tunes. Grab a beer, some mates and dive into it!

STANDOUT TRACKS: Fire It Up, The Cutest In The Band, The Lucky Falling
