Dear Joey and Brooke, What a wild ride! I just wanted to write to express …
Nocturnal Animals sure aren’t slowing down! The alt-rockers came out swinging in 2020, releasing four absolute belters and winning our hearts in the process. Now, they’ve returned with their latest track, Articuno Makes Waves.

As punchy as it is cathartic, the track takes cues from the 90’s grunge, indie and alt-rock scenes. Band member Dylan Martin explained the inspiration behind it, saying “The song is about a relationship falling apart. It was written at the time of the relationship but from the perspective of if it had already come to an end. The chorus lyrics really sums it up, but it’s that weird situation when you know the relationship is over (or doomed to be) but don’t want to admit it yet.”
Nocturnal Animals formed out of the ashes of two bands – Baja Bleeders and Chasing Claire. In their brief time together they’ve racked up over 5,000 hits on Spotify, with their single LHW a real standout. They’ve also supported punk rock outfit Private Function and headlined a number of their own sold-out hometown shows. They closed off 2020 with a sold-out show at the Adelaide Unibar.
Keeping the tradition alive, the trio will celebrate the release of Articuno Makes Waves with a one-off show at Uni Bar. You can catch all details below.
