We reckon it’s no coincidence that the world fell apart when Massic stopped releasing new tunes.

Thankfully, after a two-year gap (cheers COVID!), the groove-metallers have returned to save the day. Say hello to their crushing new track, Surrender.

It follows on from Assimilate and their 2018 debut Redshift, and it’s shown another side to the band. This time Massic has focused on up-tempo syncopated grooves and a whole lot of atmosphere, and it sounds so damn good.

“Surrender is about my brush with death in December of 2020. We actually rewrote the lyrics and the vocal melody after my event.” says vocalist Simon Russell-White. “It’s a song that means a lot to myself and my bandmates.”

Surrender was recorded and Produced by Clint Vincent (Dead Letter Circus/ Rival Fire). It marks the start of a huge year for the band, who are set to appear at Wallapalooza and the insanely stacked (no, we’re not biased) Halloween Hysteria.

“With what has taken place within the band over the 18 months, it seemed only fitting to release Surrender as a single. It’s down-right raw and filled with all things Massic,” adds guitarist Chris Butler.
