The Sydneysiders came together in late 2017 and have since released two cracking EPs.

Drifter is their first track of 2021, and it’s already left us wanting more. It kicks off with a gentle, melodic soundscape before quickly erupting into pure chaos. Vocals from three of the five members are in play here, making for one tasty mix. 

Drifter is an exciting indication of what Kaskeid has to offer. With a little more time, there’s no doubt they could hit the same heights as their counterparts.

The band themselves are in their finest form too. There’s a palpable sense of unity coming through the noise, as well as a skill level beyond their years. Kaskeid took the personal route when crafting the lyrics to Drifter. Thematically, it was inspired by making the most of life and taking the time for the things that matter most—an important message that feels more relevant now than ever before. 

Sonically, the track nods to some of the biggest names in our scene like Northlane, Polaris and Thornhill—no real surprise when you consider how full of energy it is. More than that though, Drifter is an exciting indication of what Kaskeid has to offer. With a little more time, there’s no doubt they could hit the same heights as their counterparts.

Kaskeid’s music exudes ‘jump on your mates shoulders and scream your lungs out’ energy. If they weren’t on your radar before, they sure as hell should be now.
