It’s no secret that there’s some quality heavy music coming out of Japan, and Crossfaith are no exception.

With their anticipated EP Species on the horizon, listeners today get another sample with brand new single Digital Parasite. The track is dirty, heavy and packed with emotion.

“I felt an explosion from the song, and I knew the lyrics should be aggressive and offensive,” says Crossfaith vocalist Ken Koie.

The track is inspired by frustration felt by Koie around believing people sell their souls to get fame, and that music should be “to ourselves and to our audience,” and that “some people are happy to start cheating and I don’t care for it.”

As for the new EP, fans can look forward to hearing some unique stuff from Crossfaith. Stepping away from what they’ve traditionally done, Species will be more experimental, as we’ve now seen with Digital Parasite and the earlier released, warehouse-rave inspired Endorphin.

“Playing heavy music is how I feel alive. We want Crossfaith to be the band making music that no one has ever heard before,” adds Koie.

The new EP even includes a vocal feature from Osaka rapper Jin Dogg on None Of Your Business. Crossfaith are no strangers to collaboration, having names like Enter Shikari, Beartooth and Ho99o9 featured on previous tracks.

“I believe this EP will set the course for the band for the next ten years. We’ve already started making more new music. We’re not going to stop.”

Species will be available Friday 22nd May via UNFD. Singles Digital Parasite and Endorphin are out now.
