Having self-produced their debut EP and own music videos, including merchandise Ambleside have proven that friendship and connection are at the very core of their music. The five-piece band, who have been living together since 2013, decided to take a DIY approach to their music, which allowed each member to have a say in the band’s expanding creativity. Due to the success of Ambleside’s DIY outcomes, their collective creativity lead them to win the Best Music Film Clip award at the South Australia Screen Awards, for Wash Away in 2016.

The band, who consider themselves to be ‘emotionally vulnerable’, put so much thought and effort into their music, that lead vocalist, Dan Stevens says:

“Every song we release, lyrically is about a significant moment in life that I have struggled to get through”

He continued:

“Writing about these situations has not only helped me through genuinely processing some of these issues, but also helped me heal and therefore moulded me the person that I am today”

Because of their unique vulnerability, fans have been able to connect emotionally with them, leading to Ambleside’s tracks being streamed over 2 million times across various social media platforms.

The Mortal Coil tour, which kicks off this Friday April 13th, will see Ambleside tour across Australia alongside Polaris, The Plot in You and Tapestry. Their new single Blur, will also be released on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify and BandCamp.
