Guitarist Mark Morton appears in the videos, talking about the subject of the dramatic opening to the album, Memento Mori.

“I had that piece of music laying around for a long time. We were towards the end of the writing sessions for this album and we were kind of at the point where Josh, Willy and I were like, ‘is there anything else we should be looking at?’ Is there anything missing?’”

“And I was like, I’ve got this piece of music I’ve been toiling over for a couple of years now. I think we should listen to this again cause it’s really cool.”

Another short clip has Morton touching on the politically charged Checkmate.

“I feel like musically, it represents all of what Lamb Of God does, it has that real trademark sound with the groove, and kind of acrobatic guitars in places, but also kind of a heavy groove in places.”

“It sounds very fresh—very modern to me. I think some of that is the energy of our new drummer. There really is a new energy amongst the band.”

The new drummer he’s referring to is Art Cruz, who is making his studio debut on this album. He’s no stranger to the band though, filling in when ex-drummer Chris Adler was unable to keep up with touring.

The final clip in the three-part series is about the band’s experience writing and recording with Cruz.

As for the album, fans can look forward to a true collaboration of all members blended to create something that’s truly representative of Lamb Of God, as well as special guest features from Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed) and Chuck Billy (Testament).

The self-titled album will be available worldwide on Friday 8th May.
