After their critically acclaimed 2018 release of St. Leonards, the band are keeping the flame alive with their forthcoming album release via UNFD which has been set for Friday 28th February. With the already released singles Creature of Habit Pt 2, and the highly contagious choruses heard within Jellyfish being well received by fans of Slowly Slowly, there’s also the Safety Switch which features Bec Stevens that’s already been promising both a big and bright future for the quartet.

With the unveiling of their title track, Race Car Blues, Slowly Slowly also revealed the accompanying video clip which sees frontman Ben Stewart in a homely dining environment, confronting the truths that come with self-assessment throughout the song. There’s also a nostalgic tinge of The National that flows through Stewart’s vocals that are reminiscent to the lyrics and drawls of Matt Berninger, through the opening verse of the track that soon progresses into more of an alternative indie rock compilation.

As the narration of the clip unravels, the rest of the band that consists of guitarist Albert Doan, bassist Alex Quayle and drummer Patrick Murphy, are to be seen breaking in to the scene to abduct Stewart’s from the seat before his untouched meal, where he wrestles with the intruders as well as his own personal revelations. He is then forcibly placed into a chest box where his band mates force the lid upon him, silencing Stewart to the outside world and into the heavy murmurs of his breathe as the song fades out into an eventual close.
