SATYRICON // Postpone Australian Tour

Norwegian black metal outfit Satyricon have announced that their upcoming Australian tour in April has been postponed.

Fans won’t have to wait and wonder on the band’s return though, with the rescheduled dates already announced for September. If you’ve already purchased your tickets, they are valid for the September shows, and upcoming metal band Deadspace are still locked in as the national tour support.

Frontman Satyr says that a combination of personal issues and logistics left the band with no choice but to delay their tours of Australia and Japan.

“We had on and off-stage personnel dropping out on us at the last minute for this tour” states Satyr. “We would have had to really compromise on the quality of our shows, which is something that we wouldn’t want to do when we go to Australia and Japan. It’s better for us to postpone and come back and do this properly”.

Satyricon have shown a certain level of affection for Australia since their debut tour in the mid 2000’s. “Back in the day, Australia was one of the first countries where people where showing a great deal of interest in what we were doing on the other side of the earth in Norway” Satyr explains.

“With Now, Diabolical we finally got to experience Australia ourselves, and ever since it has been one of our favourite places to come visit. Our fans there get what we do and they usually show up in great numbers…going to Australia and Japan is bound to be some of the best stops on the World Tour.”

Tickets to Satyricon’s postponed Australian tour in September are available at Destroy All Lines. All original tickets remain valid, and Deadspace are supporting the band on all shows.
