Bottling the energy of a circle pit in its opening riffs, the track is a worthy follow-up to Gloomsayer. And it’s loaded with earwormy ammunition, particularly with yell-along lines like “I can’t live up to what you want me to be, but I’m alive knowing I am nothing.”
The track also channels the energy of scene titans like The Devil Wears Prada, Like Moths To Flames, and Polaris. And with its layered screams and cleans, pummelling instrumentals and focus on tight production, it’s got epic written all over it. Partnering with engineer Mark Williamson (Inertia) and Kris Crummett (Dance Gavin Dance), who mastered the track, undoubtedly helped the band level up. And it’s left us with huge expectations for their upcoming EP, Sleepless Still (no pressure, boys!).
Ghost is a timeless tune, and it deserves to be treasured years from now.
Revoid has crammed a whole lot into the track’s three and half minute run time, but every second of Ghost feels worth the investment. Aside from sounding really damn good, the track also continues to shine a light on the band’s dark and confronting lyrical style. And having been inspired by emotionally and psychologically trying times, it makes for one powerful listen. We’re always excited to hit play on a new Revoid track, and this one was no exception. Ghost is a timeless tune, and it deserves to be treasured years from now.
