It’s yet another biting punk track from the band, critiquing the long history of violence perpetrated by cis men.

In ultra exciting news, the Gadigal/Sydney based band have also spilled the beans on their debut EP, Manic, set to drop on September 22nd. The eight-tracker will feature the previous single, 2006, as well as Manic. It’s also sure to be just as hard-hitting lyrically, with the band noting it will explore their mental health.

Describing the EP, Lou Harbidge says, “The title, Manic, was lifted from our single of the same name. We chose it as it encapsulates our state of being when the band was in its infancy. This EP is a diary, charting our progress from our beginnings in the bedroom when we were physically separated to now, being in each other’s bloody pockets!”

Boys is accompanied by a powerful music video that celebrates resilience and authenticity. Directed by Marguerite Lorraine Walsh, with Dan Knott as director of photography, it features shots of stereotypical manly men, intertwined with ones of the band standing tall. As the clip progresses, it spotlights the men’s unique traits and liberates them from society’s oppression, making one strong statement.

Manic is available to pre-order on Vinyl from August 18th.

Readers can also catch DOWNGIRL live over the coming months.
