MR. BUNGLE // Will Embark On ‘Raging Wrath Tour’ of Australia & NZ with Melvins

One of heavy music’s most pioneering and influential acts, experimental pranksters Mr. Bungle are embarking on a ‘Raging Wrath Tour of Australia and New Zealand’ in March 2024 with fellow noisemakers Melvins.

The revitalised Mr. Bungle line-up, featuring OG trio Trey Spruance (also of Secret Chiefs 3), Mike Patton (Faith No More, Tomahawk, Fantômas, too many to count), and Trevor Dunn (Secret Chiefs 3, Melvins) plus Scott Ian (Anthrax) and Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer, Fantômas, etc.) will kick off the tour at Auckland’s Town Hall before heading to Melbourne’s Festival Hall, Adelaide’s Hindley St Music Hall, Sydney’s Hordern Pavillion, Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall and concluding at Perth’s Metro City.

This line-up featured on the 2020 re-recording of the Humboldt County, California’s first demo, The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny.

Mr. Bungle have released three albums, including their 1991 debut that every metalhead worth his or her salt has a copy of, as well as the highly acclaimed Disco Volante (1995) and California (1999).

According to a statement, “Some argue that the band subsequently broke up but there is also no proof of this. What is true is that they took 20 years off from performing under said moniker while they pursued various other musics that, in contrast, paid the rent.”

Joining them on the tour are “fellow pop stars” Melvins. Melvins are one of the most influential bands in heavy music, paving the way for legendary acts such as Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Tad. They are celebrating their 40th anniversary with jaunts in Europe and North America.

Tickets for all shows go on sale 11am, Thursday 23rd November.
