Originally formed in 2005 by guitarist Chris Howorth and vocalist Maria Brink, In This Moment have since filled their amplifiers with an enchanting mixture of metal, that fuses deep guitar riffs and harmonious choruses that coincide with the strength behind Brink’s vocal diversity and the contrasting rhythms found within Randy Weitzel’s strumming between the breakdowns of bassist Travis Johnson and Kent Diimmel’s drumming. As a whole, the five-piece have created their own niche in metal; both ferocious and flavoursome, their highly anticipated release shall be one that’s well received amongst fans.

Frontwoman Maria Brink takes the ropes during The In-Between, with her captivating lyrics that challenge both the devil and the angel that live inside of us, while citing the contrast between the opinions of mother and father. As the transient interludes drag us through heaven and hell, the melodic circling heard within the track flows with an ease that is both graceful and unrelenting as the rhythm section marches the band towards new depths that are moved by powerful bass riffs and a stampede of poised drumbeats. With the music inevitably providing the perfect essence for the accompanying video clip, it’s a clip that’s been shot with a strong resemblance to the heavy lyrical themes that are heard within; with the almost overpowering usage of red and black contrasts to the whites and grey, it’s a clip that matches the songs intensity all throughout.

Mother is available for pre-sales here.
