With the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth locked and loaded, He Is Legend will also be joined by Gold Coast heavy-hitters Hammers for a momentous run of shows, kicking off at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse on Wednesday 17 May before heading to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and closing out at Badlands in Perth on Wednesday 24 May.
Hailing from North Carolina on America’s east coast, it’s been close to eight years since He Is Legend last stepped foot on our shores, with the band previously appearing in Australia at 2015’s Soundwave Festival alongside Slipknot, Faith No More and Soundgarden, and a previous headline run also in their wake in 2007 following the release of their 2006 sophomore album Suck Out the Poison.
A torrent of hard rock, monstrous grooves, bluesy flavours and meticulous-yet-melodic metal, He Is Legend have grown a cult-like status since first roaring to life in the late 90s and early 2000s. Boasting an eclectic lineup of seven full length albums across their career, including their debut LP I Am Hollywood in 2004, 2009’s force of nature It Hates You, 2019’s ferocious White Bat and, most recently, their acclaimed 2022 outing Endless Hallway, He Is Legend may now be over two decades into their musical journey – but few ravenously raise the bar like this group of genuine rockstars in an age of imitation and oversaturation. Equally renowned for their otherworldly onstage swagger, a He Is Legend show is guaranteed to firmly get under your skin and leave you wanting more.
“Australia is such a beautiful and magical trip, we couldn’t be more excited to be able to come rip some gigs for you all!” shares He Is Legend vocalist Schuylar Croom ahead of their impending return down under. “We have so many amazing memories made from our time spent on your stages, we are really thrilled to have the chance to make a few more. Come catch us this May!”
A rock’n’roll hurricane straight outta south east Queensland, the Gold Coast’s Hammers wield blazing riffs, boisterous beats and pounding basslines like nobody’s business. Fresh off touring their 2020 EP Kicking Goals post-COVID, including a stop in 2022 at Blacken Open Air Festival in Alice Springs, Hammers will appease fans with an appetite for the likes of Every Time I Die, Alice In Chains and The Bronx – but with a distinctly Aussie twist. Whether they’re supporting some of the genre’s best, headlining around Australia or hurling riffs and tongue-in-cheek frivolity on festival stages, always expect the unexpected from a Hammers live set.
Tickets for this epic rock collision between He Is Legend and Hammers are on-sale this week, definitely don’t sleep on the chance to witness the stuff legends are made of this May.
