HALCYON DRIVE // Release New Single ‘Silver Ray’

Melbourne’s indie-rock trio Halcyon Drive recently unveiled a brand new single, Silver Ray, from their upcoming debut album.

This invigorating track has both a fun, playful melody as well as highlighting the confident vocals of Michael Oechsle. The track itself is pleasingly similar to bands such as The Strokes, Everything Everything, and Glass Animals.

The band initially started as a solo project of Oechsle, but he quickly brought his friend Max Pamieta onboard, who became a permanent member of the band. The two split the creative process down the middle since they met in school. An experimental and creative pair, their love of music and design shines through in what they do.

To celebrate the release of the new single, Halcyon Drive will be performing the track at upcoming shows in both Wonthaggi and Melbourne. You can catch the band at The Workers Club in Melbourne and The Hills Are Alive festival in Wonthaggi before they move on to headlining shows on the Rare Finds indie club night tour circuit.

The boys are well versed in the ways of travelling the country, last year they set out to headline their own tour across the East Coast. Before that, they performed alongside MEW as well as performing at NYE On The Hill, BIGSOUND, and the Caloundra Music Festival. Their Silver Ray Tour runs from 22 March to 22 April.

In coming weeks the band will release a video for the single Silver Ray, which was recorded and produced by two-time ARIA and APRA winning producer Joel Quartermain. Considering two of the three amigos met at University while studying design, the video will surely be a visual experience.
