The record builds on the already solid foundations of Stoner-pop-Doom-punk (2018). And once again, it’s seen the band skip the formulaic approach. Heavier than anything they’ve put out before, it offers up solid instrumentation, beer-soaked vocals and a whole lot of variation.

Opener Midsommar Fever Dream had our adrenaline levels pumping. And at no point in the following ten tracks did they dip. Other standouts were Plume, The Shepherd and Purgatory. And the record closer—the stunning, pared-back The First Light of the Morning After (THIS close to being one of our top three picks). We’ll say it again, though. Blood Rainbow’s biggest strength is the fact that it’s not bogged down in monotony.
