If you were like us and lost count of how many times you spun Everlyne’s Deranged, you’ll want to sink your teeth into their latest offering, I Swear.

Everything we loved about Deranged is still here—the goosebump raising vocals of Mac Shay, the high-energy riffs, the shout-along choruses, the melodic verses and the band’s flair for the dramatic. And while I Swear does maintain the hallmarks of the band’s sound, it also sees them take a much darker turn.

While their pop-punk roots can still be felt within I Swear is hands down their heaviest offering to date. And with groundshaking screams, instrumentals perfectly suited to the metal world and the tight production of Callan Orr and Beau McKee, it’s got instant replay written all over it. I Swear also exudes plenty of energy and intensity. But what really sets it apart is its sense of unease. It’s the little things, like the whispered opening line, “You can’t eat. You can’t sleep. It’s always playing on your mind.”, that help the band achieve this.

Constantly pushing themselves and their sound further, Everlyne has delivered a track that is ambitious, epic, and anything but ordinary.

And while this does make for a track that’s a little twisted, we reckon Everlyne have never sounded better. There are moments on I Swear that will remind you of scene heavyweights like Evanescence and Halestorm, but with a unique blend of all their influences, Everlyne are genuinely in a league of their own. Constantly pushing themselves and their sound further, they’ve delivered a track that is ambitious, epic, and anything but ordinary.
