EVERGREENER // Release New Single ‘Incandescent’

Melbourne grunge rock quartet Evergreener return with their mighty new single, Incandescent.

Incandescent is a song of self-discovery, exploring the notion that old habits have to change in order to flourish again. The track is swimming in nostalgic sounds of wooly alt-rock guitar tones and anthemic chorus lines casting back to a simpler time for fans of early Basement and Title Fight.

The music video portrays the push and pull of a toxic relationship and the eventual blossoming of the protagonist seeking change. The band explains, “the incandescent light refers to the final awakening after a struggle and symbolises the happiness felt from that change.”

Recorded, mixed and mastered by Beau McKee (Closure in Moscow, Earth Caller), Incandescent perfectly encapsulates Evergreener’s tendencies to seamlessly balance explosive energy with melodic pop-subtleties.

Evergreener is Matthew Stepic (vocals, guitar), Corey Vinci (guitar, vocals), Dale Kuczko (bass) and Jason Vulama (drums). The quartet burst on the scene in July of last year with the release of their debut single Deciduous. Immediately making a splash with support from triple j’s short.fast.loud, Unearthed, Double J, community radio and media coverage worldwide, the band gained fans fast with their mixture of nostalgia and heavy breakdowns.

Just a few weeks ago Evergreener unveiled their single Everything In Between, which debuted on triple j’s short.fast.loud and collected a handful of subsequent plays across the following weeks. Electric Dreams Media described the track as: “the perfect mixture of emo, alt-rock, and grunge sounds all rolled into one, creating a solid soundscape that is not only catchy but will resonate with you and have you feeling strong emotions.”

GBHBL affirmed the track is “a heartfelt and passionate listen, Everything in Between blends the peppy melodies and big choruses of the emo rock style of old with a more modern way of performing it. The end result being something that is delightfully anthemic and immersive.”

Following the successful release of their EP After Thoughts in November last year, Evergreener have earned slots playing alongside acts to the likes of US hardcore outfit No Bragging Rights, Melbourne alt rock favourites Belle Haven, Perth rockers Late 90s and more.

Incandescent is available now and streaming everywhere.
